Greystones Pickleball

Frequently Asked Questions

New to the club, or new to pickleball altogether? Here are the questions we're asked most often. Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch and we'll help directly.

Getting Started

Do I need any experience to join?

Everyone is welcome! If you're new to pickleball, you'll need to complete at least 3 beginner lessons before joining our regular club sessions. This helps ensure you're comfortable with the basic rules, scoring and gameplay. We organise dedicated beginner lessons from time to time, giving you the opportunity to learn the basics, build your confidence and get ready to join regular club play.

Do I need to bring a partner?

You don't need a partner, pickleball is a very social sport, and doubles pairs are typically formed on the night. Lots of members come along on their own.

What should I wear, and what do I need to bring?

Wear comfortable sports clothing and non-marking court shoes (required for the sports hall floor). You will also need a paddle. However paddles are provided for all beginner lessons and we have a small amount of club paddles that are available for new members to use while they get their own paddle sorted.

Sessions & Venue

Where and when do you play?

Club sessions run on Wednesday evenings, 7:00pm–9:30pm, at Greystones Community College Sports Hall, during the main season (September–May) and 7:30pm to 9:pm during the summer season (June to August).

Note: Session times, venues, and additional playing slots are subject to change.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Sessions are played indoors at Greystones Community College, so they go ahead as scheduled regardless of the weather outside, unless we announce otherwise.

Is there an age limit?

Greystones Pickleball is an adult-only club for players aged 18 and over.
